What Makes Heartland Pathology, P.A. Different From Other Reference Laboratories In Wichita?
Each of Heartland Pathology’s four pathologists is board certified and highly experienced in several subspecialties, which allows our lab to offer very diverse pathology services. We are able to offer immunohistochemical testing in-house, which, in many other labs, is often sent to outside sources. And we accept all forms of insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid. Can I Discuss Cases Directly With The Pathologist?
Physicians are encouraged to call or visit our laboratory at any time to discuss a case directly with the pathologist. Patients must access their pathology reports through their physician’s office.
Do You Offer A Slide Consultation Service For Second Opinions?
Do You Offer Gross Examination And Slide Preparation Services For Specimens Obtained From Physicians?
Yes. We can turn around slides and gross examination reports in 24-48 hours.
How Are Specimens Transported To Your Laboratory?
All formalin fixed, fresh, and FNA specimens are transported via Heartland Pathology couriers. Couriers make several routine runs per day, and can always accommodate a fresh or frozen specimen at any time. You can request specimen pickup by calling our office at 316-636-5666 or completing a Request for Routine Specimen Pickup form here.
How Do You Deliver Reports?
By courier, fax, postal service, and internet download. To download reports at any time via our secure web portal, please call our office at 316-636-5666 to receive a physician login ID. In compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) we cannot deliver reports via email or any unsecure method. Patients must access pathology reports through their physician.
How Do I Obtain Specimen Supplies, Tissue Forms, Consultation Request Forms, And FedEx Supplies?
Our couriers strive to make sure you don’t run out of supplies, and can deliver supplies at any time. Call our office to set up a regular resupply schedule at 316-636-5666 or complete the Supply Request Form here.
