COVID-19 Hours: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday–Friday
Questions? Call (316) 260-1400
Providers Should:
Pre-register patients for a proper workflow to be maintained. The office can fax the order, date of collection, patient demographics and insurance information for the next day to (316) 260-1409. This allows Heartland Pathology Diagnostics to prepare all paperwork and make sure adequate supplies are available for doctor needs and patient safety.
Patients Should:
- Arrive at Heartland Pathology Diagnostics (9300 E. 29th St. N., #209) at the designated time.
- Park in the marked stall in the West parking lot located next to the unmarked West entrance.
- Remain in their vehicle and call (316) 260-1400 to inform the front desk staff that they have arrived and are there for a COVID-19 nasal collection.

Next:
- Upon arrival at the vehicle, personnel will verify the patient’s name and date of birth with a preregistration label. Once identity is verified, personnel will hand the biohazard bag to the patient, ask them to blow their nose using the Kleenex and place it back into the biohazard bag.
- At this point, the personnel will collect the swab using CDC guidelines for collecting nasopharyngeal swabs.
- Once the specimen is collected, the collection personnel will place the swab back into its holder and label it with the preregistration label. The patient will be free to leave and will be informed of the results from the ordering physician.
